Cooking hash brown patties in the air fryer is a quick, mess-free way to achieve crispy, golden potatoes every time, straight from the freezer.

Ingredients

  • Frozen hash brown patties (standard, thick, loose shredded, or pre-fried)
  • Cooking oil spray (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Remove frozen patties from freezer (no thawing needed).
  3. Lightly spray each side with cooking oil for extra crispiness (optional).
  4. Arrange patties in a single layer in the air fryer basket without stacking.
  5. Cook according to type: standard patties at 400°F for 10–12 minutes, thick patties at 380°F for 12–15 minutes, loose shredded at 400°F for 15–20 minutes, pre-fried at 400°F for 8–10 minutes.
  6. Flip halfway through cooking for even browning.
  7. Remove when golden and crispy, then serve immediately.

Notes

Avoid overcrowding the basket for best crispiness. Adjust cooking time by 1–2 minutes depending on air fryer model. Serve with eggs, bacon, or as part of a brunch platter.
